Summer in Yankee Stadium
Last wednesday I found myself seated 16 rows from homeplate at Yankee Stadium for the Yankees vs. Pirates game.I was in all my glory: Baseball Park Food Vendors -- Waiters to the sports fans of the world. I like the hotdogs, i like peanuts, I like pretzels with mustard, I like Cracker Jacks...I pretty much like it all, except cotton candy.
The seats were amazing -- to the right was "grape purple polo shirt and dark framed glasses" guy with his white-haired father in coral khaki pants. They were straight out of a J.Crew catalog and have probably attended games together for the past 20 years. Too cute. And in front was a little boy who sucked on blue cotton candy throughout the entire game. Gross. Not being much of a sports fan, I left at the 7th inning stretch thinking the Pirates were going to win (Score was 3 -1 in their favor). When my boss asked me the next day how the game was, I replied, "Fun! But the Yankees lost." "You didnt' stay til the end of the game, did you?" says the boss. Note to self: check the scores online before opening mouth about sports.

Random Fact: The higher the seats, the more money the vendors make. Seems like the seasoned fans know better than to pay an arm and a leg for ballpark fare.
